COURSE STRUCTURE
Bangalore School of English is one of the most trusted names in India for developing Communicative English and accent training. Our English for Professionals is a carefully developed programme aimed at learners who want to strengthen their proficiency in English.
Bearing in mind the English language proficiency needs of today’s professionals we have developed a well-planned curriculum structured with all the aspects needed to develop a person’s language to an effective and impressive level . It consists of:
(1) Accent training: aimed at polishing up the English pronunciation of learners to an impressive and effective level by eliminating the MTI /FLI ( Mother Tongue Influence) by learning the proper manner and methods of using the speech organs in articulation
(it emphasises on all the 44 English speech sounds and their correct articulation, basic elements of pronunciations such as strong and weak forms, contractions, stress, link up etc. which are not normally taught in a school or college syllabus.) It helps the learners to improve their listening skills and improve fluency with a neutralized accent.
(2) Grammar classes: we teach the applications and usages of tenses and other grammar aspects in a day to day real life context and not just rules and regulations alone
(3) Vocabulary building: since non-native speakers tend to use only limited number of words when they speak English, affecting the fluency level and making them tongue tied often, to overcome this difficulty, we teach the most commonly used English words & expressions in elementary, intermediate and advanced levels besides phrasal verbs and collocations.
(4) Structure & Patterns of English: this helps the learner understand even the complicated usages of English besides helping them frame grammatically correct sentences instead of translating from First language.
(5) Speaking activities: A teacher listens to the students’ speaking and corrects their mistakes. Because we believe that fluency and style could be achieved only by speaking and by getting the mistakes corrected.
(6) Video based classes to experience and understand the ways in which native speakers interact and talk in various life situations.
(7) Situational English: To make the learners confident at saying the right thing at the right time in various real life situations to help them communicate effectively. Using language appropriately helps improve communication.
(8) The Extras…There are tips on formal & informal letter writing, Presentation and body language correction, Public speaking skills, telephoning, Personality development tips etc.
